From Friday 25 to Monday 28 November, Jade Roller the initiative of the movement, is joining forces with the charity Break Poverty to launch the third edition of Fair Friday in order to take the opposite view of the very consumerist Black Friday. The main objective: to give it an ethical and solidarity dimension.
During these 4 days, Jade Roller donates 50% of its sales to Break Poverty, an organization that fights extreme poverty among children and youth in France.
In an increasingly difficult economic context with widespread inflation, it is important for the brand to mobilize a maximum number of people for this Fair Friday event.
How can we do this? By putting forward a current cause, that of the fight against the precariousness of children and young people in France.
Why Fair Friday?
Originating in the United States, Black Friday and Cyber Monday encourage retailers to offer discounted prices on the last Friday of November. This day has become a symbol of consumerism and is one of the most popular shopping days in the world.
Fair Friday is presented as a strong project of solidarity proposed as an alternative to overconsumption. This movement wishes to allow buyers to change their consumption patterns in a sustainable way. During these 4 days, each brand involved in the movement donates a part of its sales.
In two editions, this initiative was a success since more than 10.000 euros of donations were collected in a few days.
Support for the youngest in France
We don't know it enough: 1 child out of 5 is poor in France, that is to say more than 3 million. And these figures unfortunately do not stop increasing.
The donations collected during this Fair Friday will be used to support Break Poverty's innovative actions with young people from childhood onwards, who want to build themselves and live outside the scandalous circle of extreme poverty.
Break Poverty 's work is based on three main pillars: early childhood support, school dropout prevention and access to first jobs for disadvantaged youth. Break Poverty supports programs that have proven their effectiveness and impact.
